  • The Foundation may also on occasion make grants outside its advertised awards programme. Such funding is most likely to be awarded as the initial costs of a project. A project may be awarded Seed Funding of up to £2000.

    Seed money can be used to pay for preliminary operations such as market research, project scope development, and faculty exchanges in line with the Canada-UK Foundation’s remit to broadening the understanding of Canada in the UK.

    All applications are welcome, however The Foundation is seeking to fund a broad range of disciplines which include; Arts and Culture, Humanities, Applied Sciences, and Business and Management.

    Arts and Culture: 20% Humanities: 25%
    Applied Sciences: 35% Business/Management: 20%

    Our Seed Funding is to foster future fund raising opportunities, a greater profile, and to create new and innovative projects for the Foundation.  All Seed Funding opportunities require approval of the Board of Trustees and are subject to evaluation against the goals of the Foundation including consideration of other projects funded.

ARCTIC ALIVE

ARCTIC ALIVE

Arctic Alive was made by the Canada-UK Foundation in partnership with The Royal Canadian
Geographical Society. This is a free resource offered to teachers of Keystage 2 students, and is
specifically aimed at Years 4-6 and allows schools to have a museum like experience at their school.

To promote careers for talented young Canadian scientists to enable them become future world-leaders in Canada, by setting up new exchanges between UK and Canadian academic and industrial recognized centres of excellence in science, technology and entrepreneurship.Many young Canadian scientists are eager to launch and develop their careers in world-class labs overseas. However, in recent years and due to very large increase of ECRs globally, the career prospects for new PhDs in academia are increasingly limited and many talented young scientists actively seek alternative careers.
